The Present Perfect

The present perfect is used to talk about experiences or events that started in the past and continue in the present.

Present Perfect Structure

subject + auxiliary + past participle + rest of sentence

I have gone to Nicaragua twice.
She has written an inspiring speech.

Examples:



Singular pronouns use has as auxiliary verb


- He has watched The Death Cure online.
- She has told me funny stories.
- It has rained for six days in San Pedro Sula.

Plural Pronouns use have as auxiliary verb

- I have studied Literature for five years.
- You have cleaned this living room all by yourself.
- We have come to the university by bus.
- They have worked in the English homework since January.

    Today was a great day, I woke up at 5:30 am, but I got up until 6:00 am. I went to work at 8:00 a.m., took my pick at 12:00 p.m. as usual, at 6:00 p.m. I went to the University. Come back to my house at 9:30 p.m. and I went to sleep at 11:00 pm
    This was my day.

    What did you do yesterday ?

    Yesterday i slept late night, so i woke up at 11:00 am. I didn´t have breakfast, so i ate until lunch time. I ate spaghettis with boiled plantains. I brushed my teeth took a bath, got ready for college. My mom and dad had to do some errands, so i went with them. After that, we picked up my girlfriend at her house and headed up to college. i had my first class at 5:00 pm and then english at 6:00 pm. Went home at 8:00 pm. Had dinner and went to bed.

  3. Well. The day bebefo yesterday I woke up early and I took a shower. Next I brushed my teeth and put my makeup. After that I went to my work. At noon I twelve thirty I arrived at home and ate my lunch.then I leave the house and went to classes. Finally I returned to the house had supper and slept. That was my busy day.
